Human feces are a biohazard. Some infections and diseases spread when spores or microscopic amounts of feces are transferred from one person to another by mouth. This can occur directly through hand-to-mouth contact or indirectly through contaminated objects, surfaces, food, or water. Examples of diseases spread by feces include:
